This very active town south of Portland includes a Neighborhood Main Street Project,  a beautiful new Riverfront Park on the Willamette River, and a light rail system that will run between here and Portland.

The latest quarterly report of the most affordable homes in the U.S. puts the Midwest and Northeast at the top of the heap. But there are plenty of towns in the Sunbelt that are right up there too, such as #45, Gainesville, FL (pictured).
